It's been a hobby and profession for me, it hasn't always been this way. I remember the first time my eyes scanned an erotic photo. I stumbled on my father's Playboy™ collection at 12-years-old. Something inside me fell in love with the depiction of the models. the technical side didn't even occur to me at that age, how could it. I was simply mezmerized by the beauty captured in the image by a photographer that obviously worshipped women. 20 years would pass before my camera would eventually focus on the naked female form. Checklist for any erotic photography session. Having or doing these simple things will go a long way toward a great shoot and help your model feel at ease and comfortable.
- A clean studio or location to shoot.
- Present yourself well, don't go overboard just be clean and comfortable yourself and the model will sense your feeling of ease.
- I'm guilty of this one... Have your lighting ready to start shooting. Models hate being bored and if you aren't the king of jokes they'll get pissy just watching you fumbling with gear.
- Spend a few moments discussing what you are after with the shoot. If it's a TFP (time for print) ask the model what she might need in her book and help her get those shots as well. I know this one is just common sense but I can tell you horror stories from models and photographers that could have been avoided with this simple conversation.
